“It has made gluing tires way easier and they don’t come unglued.”

Happy Tire Gluing Station

HappyTire RC started with the idea for this Gluing Station. I believe this is the fastest and most consistent way to glue RC tires.

When I thought about the things that would make a spectacular gluing tool, I came up with four characteristics:

– Fast tire load and change. I don’t like gluing tires, and don’t want to spend time screwing things on and off. The HTRC Gluing Station loads in a second or two and changes from one tire to the next of the same size just as fast thanks to the concept of the alignment disc instead of replicating an axle and hex.

– Leave the human with a single task. When manually gluing, you pull the bead out, apply glue, seat the bead, and rotate the tire. There are solutions that pull the bead back and seat it but leave you to both rotate and dispense the glue. We work best when focused on a single task, so the Gluing Station does everything but squirt glue.

– Be adjustable. Cover different tire sizes, compounds, and humans. Right or left handed. Shaky or steady. This station is ready to work for you, not make you work its way.

– Come with a reasonable price tag. Face it, this is kind of a luxury and you can easily do without it. I want a gluing tool that inexpensive enough that it’s a no-brainer.

In the video at right, you’ll watch the Gluing Station used to glue one side of two 2.2 Buggy rear tires in about a minute. At the end, there’s a close-up view of the resulting glue job, which is clean and consistent all of the way around.

Anyone that knows me knows I hate gluing tires.

I typically glue myself to myself and the beads don’t always hold up on race day. Fast forward to Happy Tires RC glue jig, it is no longer a hated chore.   From start finish, opening packages, cleaning tires, putting on rims, adjusting for bead alignment, to gluing, 20 tires in about 40 minutes.   Start to finish. The actual gluing part was about 10 minutes.
Pull from that what you want.   Or simply put, I no longer hate gluing tires. There are many a jig out there, and I’ve tried most. This is the only one that I have liked after using it and it just simply works, for me.
Also like to add, no glue on my fingers after those 20 tires. Not one speck.

This time the Gluing Station works on four 2.2 Buggy fronts, again gluing a single side very cleanly. Pay attention to the tire change speed… with nothing to screw on and off, it’s just drop and go.

The Happy Tire Gluing Station is built from 3/8″ and 1/4″ clear acrylic, laser cut with crystal clear edges. The motor can run from 6 to 12 volts: 2S or 3S lipos, 6 or 7 cell NiMH, or a 12V power supply. It’s rated for 20 watts, so an RC battery will last a LONG time. I selected the motor for 2S (~8V) and you might find that a 12V supply feels a little fast. Your Gluing Station will arrive with tinned leads… you need to solder on the connector you prefer.

There are two versions of the Gluing Station:

Gluing Station – Small works for tires from touring car to 8th buggies, and is smaller at 6 x 5.5 x 4.5 inches.
Gluing Station – Large covers everything above plus truggy tires. This version measures 7.5 x 6.5 x 5 inches.

Color Plates are available for either model Gluing Station. These plates are 1/8″ colored acrylic that attach under the base plate using the screws that secure the rubber feet. Purely aesthetic… they look cool. You’ll see a pink one in the video below.

Learn more about the Gluing Station is this video review of the unit’s features and adjustments. The Gluing Station is built to work the way you do. Each model adjusts quickly to a wide range of tire sizes.
